Your submarine has to cross 5 minefields, each bigger than the last. Tap a cell to ping it. A number shows how many mines touch that cell (including diagonally). A blank cell has no mines around it and opens up its neighbours for you.
Your first ping on every board is always safe, and every board can be cleared by logic alone, so you never have to guess.
Switch to Buoy mode with the big button (or press B) to mark the cells you know are mines. On a computer you can also right-click, and on a phone you can press and hold. Tap a number whose mines are all buoyed to open every other cell around it.
Pinging a mine costs 1 hull point, shows you the mine, and the board carries on. Lose your last hull point and the run is over. A board is cleared when every safe cell is open.
Scoring: each cleared board earns 100, plus up to 100 for beating its par time, plus 50 if you took no damage on it.
Easy gives you 3 hull points. Hard has 20% more mines and only 2 hull points, but scores 1.5×. Daily Sweep is the same 5 boards for everyone today, played once, with its own leaderboard that resets at midnight Pacific time. Share your result with the copy button.
On a keyboard: B or Space switches Ping/Buoy, P pauses, M mutes.
