Keyboard Defender

Type the falling words before they hit your dome.

Space Invaders for typists. Words fall toward your observatory and the only way to shoot one down is to type it exactly, capitals and all, before it breaks a shield.

Needs a physical keyboard — play on a computer.

How to play Keyboard Defender

Words fall from the sky toward your observatory. Type one exactly and press Enter to shoot it down. Capitals count, so Signal is not signal. Use Backspace to fix a typo before you fire.

If more than one word matches, your shot hits the one closest to the ground. Press Esc to pause.

Your dome has three shields. Each word that lands breaks one, and when the third one breaks, the dome crumbles and the game is over. Shooting down a challenge word repairs one broken shield, up to the full three.

Clear every word in a level to move on to the next. Every five levels the words get longer and fall faster. From level 11, challenge words appear. These are magenta jumbles of letters, numbers and symbols, and they're worth double.

A word scores one point per character. Hit three or more in a row without a miss and each hit scores ×1.5, but a wrong shot or a landed word resets the streak.

You need a physical keyboard to play.
